Downingtown native Pat Devlin threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns as 19th-ranked Division I-FCS power Delaware shut out visiting West Chester, 31-0, in the 2010 season opener before 19,421 spectators at Delaware Stadium on a humid Thursday night.

No. 16 West Chester University shut out visting Chestnut Hill, 2-0, on a blistering hot Thursday afternoon in the season opener for both squads. Sarah Oswald scored both goals with assists coming from Devon Swaim.

Men’s Soccer Optimistic About Turnaround In 2010

Last season was a disappointment to say the least for West Chester University’s men’s soccer program. Four wins overall and only one in conference play was uncharacteristic for a school that recently put together a string of seven consecutive playoff appearances.

Fiorilla Named Atlantic 10 Player Of The Week

West Chester University junior forward Nicole Fiorilla was named the Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey player of the week it was announced by that organization Tuesday afternoon. Fiorilla earns the player of the week nod in the first weekly release of the season.
