West Chester Gymnasts Place Fourth At Liberty Classic

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Kaley LaFleur scored a 36.000 in the all-around and teammate Alli Aquila scored a 35.825 as West Chester University’s women’s gymnastics squad placed fourth at the fourth annual Liberty Classic held inside McGonigle Hall Sunday afternoon.
Host Temple won the Liberty Classic with a team score of 188.375. Ursinus was second with a 181.725, and Penn was third with a 181.200.
The vault was West Chester’s best event of the afternoon. Felicia Massaro and LaFleur each scored a 9.525 while LaFleur scored a 9.3. West Chester scored a 46.625 as a team in the vault.
On the balance beam, LaFleur also scored an identical 9.3 for the Golden Rams.
West Chester returns to action on Wednesday when the Golden Rams travel to Penn for a mid-week meet with the Quakers.
