WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University women’s gymnastics head coach Barbara Cordova announced one gymnast, who has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for West Chester University next season.
Emily Seigel (Reisterstown, Md./United Gymnastix) was an excellent all around competitor with an impressive resume. In 2009 she was the level 9 state bar, beam, and all-around champion. At regionals, she placed second on the uneven bars and qualified twice for level 9 nationals, placing third on bars, fourth on beam and all around. In 2010, she qualified for states and regionals as a level 10. She has been her team captain for three consecutive years.
Emily also excels outside the gym. She is an excellent student with a 4.3 grade-point average and a member of the National Honor Society.
“She will be an asset to our team, especially on bars where she excels and we have struggled a bit,” said head coach Barbara Cordova. “In addition, she will be an asset to our university.”
