One of West Chester’s stars on the diamond during the Golden Rams’ Division I years, Andy Bortz graduated ranked among the school’s top 15 players in 12 offensive categories. He still holds both the school and conference record for consecutive hitting streak at 26 straight games. The Rams’ outfielder batted .339 for his college career with a .503 slugging percentage. He was named second team All-PSAC South in 1985 – the only year in which West Chester competed at the DII level during his career – and led the Golden Rams to the NCAA DII South Atlantic Regional Championship Game.

The Pottstown, Pa., native legged out six triples in 1988, falling one short of the school record, during his senior year in which he also served as team captain. Still active in the game of baseball, he currently serves as the Director of Operations for the Reading Phillies.
