A 10-time letterwinner across three sports at West Chester University, Cheryl Holland Hunstock starred on two of the Golden Rams’ national championship field hockey squads (1975, 1976) and was a four-year starter on the hardwood for the Lady Rams’ basketball team. She served as team captain of both the field hockey and women’s basketball squads her senior season. West Chester’s field hockey and lacrosse teams authored a combined 64-3-7 (.912) winning percentage under legendary head coach Vonnie Gros during Hunstock’s career.
After graduating from West Chester University in 1977, Hunstock continued her basketball career playing overseas in Germany from 1977 to 1978. She returned to the states to coach women’s basketball on the collegiate level as an assistant coach at LaSalle, North Park University (Chicago, Ill.) and as a head coach at Oakton Community College (Des Plaines, Ill.).
