Considered one of the finest women’s gymnasts to ever grace West Chester University, Darlene Deeley was a two-time All-American in the floor exercise and uneven bars while being named the PAIAW women’s gymnast of the year in 1983 after leading the Golden Rams to the NCAA regional championship and a fourth-place finish at nationals. Deeley was the cornerstone for a women’s gymnastics squad that authored a 25-match unbeaten streak during the early 1980s. The Golden Rams’ ladies were 52-3 during her four-year career, winning four consecutive PAIAW team titles in the process.
Upon graduation, Deeley was named Miss Pennsylvania for 1986-87 and competed in the 1987 Miss America Pageant. She is currently serving as the Gymnastics Director at the Hatboro Area YMCA and head coach of the Montgomery County Special Olympics Gymnastics Program.
