West Chester University Athletics

A three-sport athlete in college, Smeltz was an All-American in two of those three sports. She already holds membership in three halls of fame. She was a first team All-American in lacrosse in 1972-74 and a U.S. Field Hockey All-American in 1973. She participated in the U.S. Field Hockey Tournament in both 1972 and 1973 while also playing in the U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament in both 1973 and 1974. In 1998, Smeltz was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Last fall, Smeltz and her teammates on the 1975 U.S. Lacrosse touring team were honored at the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a Team of Distinction.
