Widely considered one of the best volleyball players to come out of the West Chester University program, and the first volleyball player to be inducted into the WCU Athletics Hall of Fame, Novik was a two-sport athlete who also competed for the track & field squad. She was a four-time All-PSAC East selection on the volleyball court, earning first-team all-league plaudits three times (2001, 2002 and 2003). She still holds six school records, including most kills (1,759), most attempts (3,994) and most kills per set (4.13). Her single-season marks of 604 kills, 1,456 attempts and 5.39 kills per set may never be challenged under the current rules of the college game. She is the only West Chester volleyball player to reach 600 kills in a season and ranks ninth all-time in the PSAC in kills in a single season. Her 1,759 career kills ranks 17th in PSAC history. Her .358 hitting percentage in 2003 is the second best single-season mark in school history as well.

On the track, Novik won the 400m at the 2004 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships while qualifying for the NCAA Division II Championships in the heptathlon that winter. She still ranks third overall in the 55m and third in the heptathlon at West Chester University. She is fourth in the 400m and fifth in the high jump indoors. Outdoors, she holds the fifth-best mark in the 400m and sixth-best in the 200m while hitting the eight-best mark in the long jump.
