Men’s Swimming Picks Up One Place; Stands 10th At NCAAs

HOUSTON, Texas – West Chester University produced one more All-American on Friday night to move up one place in the team standings to 10th overall at the 2009 NCAA Division II Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships being held in conjunction with the NCAA Division II Winter Festival at the University of Houston.

West Chester has 104 points, trailing the overall team leader in Wayne State (Mich.) with 372.5 points.

Max Bernardes earned his second individual All-America certificate with a seventh-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:30.84.

Kenny McCormick finished second in the consolation finals of the 200 butterfly to place 10th overall with a time of 1:49.91.

The 2009 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships conclude on Saturday with the 1650 free, 100 free, 200 back, 400 free relay and the 200 breaststroke.
