CHESTER, Pa. – Noreen Seymour posted four top-five performances and Brittany Foye registered a couple of top performances as well at the 2009 Danny Curran Invitational Outdoor Track & Field competition hosted by Widener University Saturday afternoon.
Seymour placed third in the discus with a toss of 120 feet while also recording three more fifth-place showings in the hammer (129-9), javelin (113-7) and shot put (36-2). Liz Jackson won the shot put with a distance of 37-1 ¼ and was fourth in the discus (117).
Brittany Foye was runner up in the long jump, leaping 16-11 ½ while placing fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 35-9 ½. C.J. Jacob placed third in the long jump behind Foye, jumping 16-10 ¾. Jacob was also part of the 4x100 relay that finished fourth in 52.12 seconds. Melinda Wentz was seventh in the long jump with a distance of 16-1 ½.
Katie Butler finished third in the high jump, clearing 5-1 ¼.
West Chester’s men’s and women’s track & field teams will be in action again next weekend at the PSAC East Challenge hosted by Millersville University next Friday and Saturday.
