CHESTER, Pa. - Liz Jackson recorded three runner-up performances for West Chester University's women's track & field team at the Widener Invitational Saturday.
Jackson finished second in the shot put with a distance of 40 feet, 3 1/2 inches, second in the discus (115-05) and second in the hammer (127-6). Teammate Noreen Seymour was third in both the shot put (39-8) and discus (114-04).
C.J. Jacob added to the Golden Rams' success in the field events with a first-place showing in the long jump, clearing 17-6 1/4. Jacob led a contingent that captured the top three spots in the event. Melinda Wentz was second (16-8 3/4) and Brittany Foye third (16-7 3/4). Katie Butler was third in the high jump (5-3).
On the track, West Chester's two relay teams were impressive. The 4x100m squad placed third in 50.77 seconds while the 4x400 also placed third in 4 minutes, 15.40 seconds.
Jacob was third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.08. Maria Baker was fourth in 15.31.
