PALM BEACH, Fla. – West Chester University returned from an unseasonably cold training trip to Florida over the winter break after competing at the first annual North Palm Beach Relay Meet. The Golden Rams took first place in all four relay events to sweep the meet.
The relay meet against Johns Hopkins and the University of Maine was held in a long pool measured in meters under sunny skies with temperatures around 37 degrees.
West Chester’s foursome in the women’s 200 medley relay won with a time of 2 minutes, 17.06 seconds. Dani Scott, Rachael Gale, Erin Fischer and Kristen Montello made up that winning team. On the men’s side, Calvin Starosta, Peter Madueno, Eric Kunzman and Mike Westley won in 2:02.02.
In the women’s 200 free relay, Jackie Borkowski, Megan Bauer, Jillian Murphy finished in 2:03.25, topping Hopkins and Maine. In the men's 200 free relay, Brendan Fanslau, Tommy Rhoads, Kenny McCormick and Josh Pauley posted a winning time of 1:48.8.
