Sixth-year senior quarterback Sean McCartney (Doylestown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) was named the PSAC Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Week it was announced by that organization Sunday afternoon.
McCartney completed 18-of-25 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns in just one half, leading No. 10 West Chester (4-0, 3-0) to a 62-7 victory over Millersville. McCartney completed nine of his first 10 passes, including the first seven while engineering touchdown drives on the Golden Rams' first three possessions. On McCartney's final drive of the game, he took West Chester on a five-play, 55-yard touchdown scoring drive in the two-minute drill. He hit Mike Doty for a 21-yard touchdown strike in the final seconds of the first half.
In four games this season, McCartney has completed 74-of-119 passes for 1,136 yards and 13 touchdowns with two interceptions.
