Kayla Owens kicked off her senior campaign by winning both the shot put and weight throw for West Chester.

The shot put distance of 43 feet, 10 ½ inches claimed first place for Owens, in addition to being an NCAA provisional qualifier in the first meet of the season.

In the weight throw, Owens heaved the weight 50-3 ½ in order to obtain first at the opening indoor track & field meet at the Fast Times Before Finals meet.

Both events placed Owens as PSAC Championship Qualifying Marks as well.
