West Chester’s Georgia Wright (Doncaster, Pa.) grabbed a pair of the 10 first-places as the Golden Rams opened up 2017 on the right foot with a 157.5-103.5 win against host Johns Hopkins. The freshman set a new pool record in the 1650-yard freestyle by capturing a final time of 17:33.72. Wright broke the previous record by 3.40 seconds that had stood since 1991. Registering the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke was Wright as well, clocking in at 2:09.40.
