Sr., OF Nick Bateman (Aston, Pa./Malvern) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2017 Atlantic Regional. West Chester landed four players on the all-tournament team, including the Aston native. Bateman, who was also one of the four Golden Rams on the all-tournament team, was joined by 1B Jared Melone, SS Nick Ward and RP Josh McClain. Bateman hit .474 in the tournament (9-for-19), including six of his nine hits going for extra bases. He also was spectacular in center field for the Golden Rams. The senior had a hit in every game, including three hits twice, and carries an 11-game hitting streak into the national championships in Texas this weekend. Bateman had four doubles and two triples in the four games that West Chester played.
