Victor Polyakov broke the pool record, inside Hutchinson Natatorium in New Haven, Conn., in the 1,650-yard freestyle Saturday morning in the first event of the day. He touched the wall in 15 minutes, 54.04 seconds to win that event. He also claimed first in the 500 free, 200 free and the 400 individual medley. The Russian exchange student was also part of a pair of relays that took first place (400 free relay and 800 free relay).

West Chester defeated Shippensburg, 265-87, while taking down So. Conn. State, 220-140, in the season opener.
