No. 12 West Chester Loses To Slippery Rock, 3-1

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – In a women’s soccer game that just didn’t seem to go the Golden Rams’ way at all Saturday afternoon, Slippery Rock won, 3-1.

Goals from Danielle Cooper and Alison Hindley quickly made the score 2-0 The Rock in the opening half. Hindley’s second tally in the second put the game away.

Rita Alton was finally able to end the shutout when she drove in an unassisted goal in the 68th minute.

Unfortunately, the late score didn’t help any as West Chester dropped to 12-2-2, while The Rock improved to 14-3-1

Alton scored the only goal of the day for the Golden Rams, while goalkeeper Brittany Barnes went the distance, and recorded six saves.

Hindley recorded two goals for The Rock, and Cooper recorded a goal. Wilson, Paganie, and McGrath were each credited with an assist. Goalkeeper Lauren McManus also went the distance today, and recorded five saves, and let up one goal.

The Golden Rams will return to action Wednesday when they head to East Stroudsburg Wednesday at 5 p.m.
