Box Score

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.
- Two defenders registered goals for West Chester Wednesday afternoon as the Golden Rams downed host Holy Family, 2-1, in a non-league women's soccer match.

Senior captain and the team's sweeper, Lauren Boyer scored an unassisted tally on a direct kick from 30 yards out just before halftime to give West Chester (11-1-3) a 1-0 advantage at the break. Then, freshman back Tara Malkiewicz headed in the game-winner on a corner kick in the 83rd minute to break a 1-1 tie.

Hilary Smart went the distance in goal, making three saves for the win. The Rams held a 19-9 advantage in shots for the game.

West Chester returns home on Saturday for a PSAC East match with East Stroudsburg in a doubleheader with the men. The Golden Rams are unbeaten in league play and in first place. They are also ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic Region in the latest polls used to help select the NCAA Division II Tournament field.
