BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – West Chester split a PSAC baseball doubleheader with arch-rival Bloomsburg Saturday. The Golden Rams won game one 3-2, but fell in the nightcap 10-7.
David Slusser (7-2) picked up the win in the opener. He went five innings and gave up five hits and one run. He walked one and struck out four. Eric Carmichael came on and pitched the final two innings for his sixth save of the season, setting a new school record for saves.
Matt Cotellese was 2-for-2 in the opener and 2-for-4 in the nightcap with a home run and a double and four RBI. Blair Dameron (2-for-4) also homered for the Golden Rams.
Bret Moyer (3-2) lost the nightcap. He lasted just 1.2 innings, allowing four earned runs on six hits.
Bloomsburg jumped out on top 6-0. West Chester climbed back in it and crawled to within one at 8-7. However, the Huskies scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the game away.
