ESU jumped out to a 20-10 lead midway through the first half before West Chester went on an 8-3 run to close to within five (23-18). The Warriors would eventually push their advantage back to 10 points (34-24) by halftime.

However, a 12-0 run by the Golden Rams to open the second half gave the visitors their first lead of the game (36-34) since the opening minute of the contest. Janelle Garber (11 points) and Bridget Carlin (10 points) fueled the run with four points apiece.

Carlin registered a career-high seven assists and four steals to go along with her 10 points.

The Golden Rams walked away from the Warriors by virtue of their 15-2 run following a bucket by ESU that had briefly tied the game at 36-all. With 10:10 remaining in the game, West Chester had hung a 27-4 run on the hosts that put the Rams in the driver’s seat the rest of the way, 51-38.

ESU made just six baskets in the second half, shooting 30 percent (6-for-20) from the field as the Golden Rams mounted their comeback.
