CLARMONT, Fla. - West Chester University split a doubleheader with West Virginia Wesleyan Friday morning, taking game one by the measure of 3-0 before dropping the second game, 3-2.
Shannon Padula (4-2) went the distance and picked up the win in the opener. Erin MacNamee went 2-for-2 with an inside-the-park home run and three RBI. She led off the game for the second time in a week the the round-tripper.
Samantha Ingersoll continues to swing a hot bat. She was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Megan Harbaugh collected the other RBI.
In the second game, Samantha Soprano (3-3) suffered the loss as West Virginia Wesleyan scored two runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth to erase an early 2-0 lead by the Golden Rams.
MacNamee was 1-for-3 with a run scored and three stolen bases. She stole five bases in all on the day. Stefani Kerbacher was 1-for-3 as well with an RBI. Ingersoll picked up the other RBI.
West Chester returns north to take on Lincoln University on Monday in a non-league doubleheader in Avon Grove, Pa.
