WILMINGTON, Del. - West Chester University swept a doubleheader from host Goldey Beacom Wednesday, taking game one 12-1 in five innings and winning the nightcap, 11-5.
The sweep ended a personal eight-game losing streak for the Golden Rams (23-15). Kate Kmiencinski hit a triple and a home run in the second game while Erin MacNamee banged out two triples as well. Evelyn Anderson went 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored, and Megan Harbaugh knocked in three runs.
In the opener, Harbaugh plated two more runs to finish the afternoon with five RBI total. Harbaugh, Meghan Halberstadt and Kmiencinski each scored twice.
Samantha Soprano (11-7) picked up the wins in each game, pitching all 12 innings of the twinbill. She allowed six hits over five innings in the opener and walked just one. In the second game, she yielded five hits and struck out three.
