CALIFORNIA, PA – Sarah Oswald scored the only goal of the game to lead West Chester No.13 to a 1-0 win over California No. 4 on this sunny Saturday at California, Pa.
West Chester (12-1-0, 10-1-0 PSAC) extends its winning streak to five games with today’s victory while Cal (13-1-1, 9-1-1) dropped its first game in the PSAC conference this season.
Oswald scored the only goal of the match eight minutes in the second half, making this her ninth goal of the season with an assist from Devon Swaim.
Goalkeeper Lyndsie Bernardini made three saves for West Chester shutting out Cal. It was a back and forth game both teams having shots on goal in both halves but West Chester came out strong in the second half scoring in the first ten minutes giving them the only goal of the game.
West Chester Women’s Soccer will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Mercyhurst for a 4 p.m. game.
