SALISBURY, N.C. - West Chester University downed Glenville State, 9-8 in eight innings in its last round-robin contest at the Catawba Tournament Saturday. But, the Golden Rams later fell to GSC, 10-7, in the elimination round to close out the tournament.
West Chester (3-2) defeated Glenville State when Erin MacNamee knocked in Evelyn Anderson with the game-winning run in the eighth inning earlier in the afternoon. That win made the Golden Rams the five-seed in the elimination round of the tournament and earned them a rematch with Glenville St. This time, WCU fell, 10-7.
In the win over Glenville State, Samantha Ingersoll hit two home runs and finished with four RBI.
West Chester returns north before heading back to Florida next week during spring break to resume its 2010 schedule.
