WEST CHESTER, Pa.
– Megan Harbaugh collected a pair of game-winning RBI in West Chester’s final at bats of each end of a PSAC East softball doubleheader to lead the Golden Rams to a sweep over Millersville on a sunny, but breezy Wednesday afternoon. With the victories came head coach Diane Lokey’s 200th career win in her nine-year college coaching career.

West Chester (22-6, 7-1 PSAC East) extended its lead in the Eastern Division with a 2-1 victory in the opener and a 7-6 triumph in the nightcap over Millersville (13-16, 2-7).

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning of game one, Sam Ingersoll and Harbaugh hit back-to-back home runs to lift the hosts to a 2-1 victory. Junior Brooke Muth (9-4) threw a complete-game to earn her ninth win of the year. She allowed one run on seven hits and struck out four without walking a batter.

Down 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth of game two, Ingersoll and Harbaugh hit back-to-back sacrifice flies to lift West Chester to a 7-6 win. Those runs completed a three-run sixth inning altogether that made a winner out of Missy Schwartz (6-0) inside the circle. Evelyn Anderson hit a RBI single just before Ingersoll and Harbaugh stepped to the plate to make it a 6-5 ballgame.

Schwartz relieved Muth with two outs in the first inning after Millersville put up all six of its runs to take an early 6-0 lead. Schwartz got Muth out of the jam without any more damage and then threw 6.1 innings of one-hit ball to keep the Marauders quite while West Chester mounted its comeback.

Erin MacNamee hit her third home run of the season to lead off the bottom of the first for the Golden Rams. Schwartz then smacked a two-run triple down the right-field line to help her own cause and chase home Ingersoll and Harbaugh. Ingersoll then hit a RBI double in the fourth to make it a 6-4 contest.

Ingersoll finished the twinbill 4-for-6 to raise her average to .551 on the year (49-for-89).

West Chester puts its 10-game win streak on the line Friday with a doubleheader on the road at Kutztown, beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Rams and Bears split a twinbill earlier in the year at West Chester.
