CLERMONT, Fla. - Senior shortstop Sam Ingersoll went 5-for-8 with two home runs, including a grand slam, and eight RBI to lead West Chester University to a pair of wins down south in Clermont, Fla. West Chester downed Assumption, 8-7, in the opener and topped American International in the second game, 12-0 in five innings.
West Chester (7-2) is now on a four-game winning streak.
Missy Schwartz went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the opening game. She finished the doubleheader 4-for-8 overall with six runs scored.
Freshman Kate Skokowski (1-1) picked up her first college win inside the circle for the Golden Rams while Brooke Muth (3-1) picked up the five-inning win over AIC in the second game.
