Lock Haven Sweeps Softball Doubleheader From West Chester

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
– Stef Kerbacher went 3-for-3 and Evelyn Anderson 3-for-4 in the first game while Megan Harbaugh was 2-for-4 in the nightcap. However, West Chester dropped both ends of a PSAC crossover doubleheader on the road at Lock Haven Wednesday by scores of 5-2 and 9-6.

West Chester (28-12) held a brief 1-0 lead in the opener after scoring in the first inning. However, Lock Haven potted a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings, then tacked on another in the sixth.

Brooke Muth (14-7) suffered the loss in the opener. However, she knocked in two runs in the nightcap.

Melissa Hastings (2-1) started and suffered the loss in the second game. She pitched two innings and surrendered eight hits and seven runs, walking one and striking out two. Kate Skokowski came on to finish up. She yielded five hits and two runs while walking one and striking out one.

Lock Haven scored one in the first, four in the second and four in the third to jump out in front 9-0. West Chester responded with three runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth, but could not complete the comeback.

West Chester travels to Millersville on Saturday for a critical PSAC East showdown with the Marauders. The Golden Rams can clinch their first division title in school history.
