Bloomsburg Stuns No. 4 West Chester, 2-0

BLOOMSBURG, Pa.
– Kelsey Stoka scored a pair of goals to lead host Bloomsburg to an upset over fourth-ranked West Chester, 2-0, at Sports Stadium on a hot and humid Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (7-1-0, 5-1-0 PSAC) suffered its first loss of the season while being scored upon for the first time this fall. Bloomsburg (5-0-1, 4-0-0) moved closer to the Golden Rams in the league standings while remaining unbeaten on the year. It marked the second straight year in which West Chester lost on the road at Bloomsburg.

West Chester outshot Bloomsburg, 21-6, and Huskies goalkeeper Frances Nicoletti made 10 saves for the hosts. Golden Rams’ keeper Lyndsie Bernardini did not make a save in the loss. West Chester maintained its lead in the league standings based on points, despite the loss.

Bernardini (6-1) saw her consecutive scoreless streak end at 552 minutes.

West Chester travels to Holy Family next Thursday afternoon for a non-conference tilt.
