MANSFIELD, Pa. – Allison Hostetter scored 17 points and dished out five assists, and Megan Stewart and Alex Lennon posted 15 points and 14 points, respectively, to lead visiting West Chester to a 74-59 victory over host Mansfield in the PSAC women’s basketball opener for both schools Wednesday evening inside Decker Gym.
West Chester (10-3, 1-0 PSAC East) upped its personal win streak against Mansfield (5-8, 0-1) to seven straight, dating back to a loss at Decker Gym in February 2007.
Hostetter missed a double-double by one rebound while Lennon registered three blocked shots to move into ninth place on the school’s all-time list.
Senior guard Dominique Adams put up seven points and grabbed six rebounds off the bench for the Golden Rams.
West Chester shot 43 percent from the field for the game and opened up an 11-point lead by halftime to keep Mansfield at bay. The Golden Rams also hit 10 of their 13 foul shots.
West Chester returns to Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon for its league home opener against East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m.
