No. 3 West Chester Turns Back No. 9 Millersville, 4-1

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- Junior forward Kayla Gluchowski registered a hat trick as third-ranked West Chester University defeated No. 9 Millersville, 4-1, Friday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field in a PSAC field hockey contest.

West Chester (11-3, 6-2 PSAC East) scored twice in the final eight minutes to finally put away a determined Millersville squad (7-8, 1-7). Brynn Adams tipped in a shot from Leah Angstadt off a penalty corner in the 63rd minute for her sixth goal of the season while Gluchowski finished her hat trick in the 67th minute off a pass from Nicole Fiorilla.

It was Gluchowski's second hat trick of the season, also scoring four goals against Mansfield earlier in the year. Fiorilla finished with a pair of assists. She helped out on Gluchowski's first goal of the afternoon two minutes into the contest. Gluchowski doubled West Chester's lead in the 14th minute off a helper from Alisha Moran.

Millersville's Brittany Troutman scored her fourth goal of the year in the 49th minute to cut the deficit in half. However, West Chester was able to pull away late with a pair of goals.

Kristen Arnold made two saves in the win while Sarah Dickinson made six saves, including three tremendous kick saves, in the loss.

West Chester travels to Division III power Ursinus on Sunday for the 32nd annual Eleanor Snell Cup. The all-time series between West Chester and Ursinus stands even at 23-23-9. The Snell Cup series is also even at 14-14-3. The two legendary field hockey programs first met back in the 1920s. The regional rivalry, which has withstood shifts in divsional alignment in the NCAA, is believed to be one of the oldest field hockey rivalries in the country.
