CALIFORNIA (Pa.) - West Chester University dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 2 California (Pa.) in the second round of the 2011 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament Sunday afternoon.
West Chester (13-4-4) allowed in an own goal in the 71st minute and that proved to be all Cal (19-0-2) would need to advance to the Atlantic Region championship next weekend in Albany, N.Y. The Vulcans will take on PSAC rival Slippery Rock in the third round of the tournament.
Golden Rams' freshman goalkeeper Shannon Fedyk (13-4-4) made four saves in the loss. Cal's Pamela Jackson was credited with a pair of saves to pick up the win.
