West Chester Splits Two Games Down South

Dominican Box Score
Alderson Broaddus Box Score

CLERMONT, Fla.
– West Chester split a pair of games down south at the National Training Complex Sunday afternoon, beating Dominican, 6-1, in the opener, before falling to Alderson-Broaddus, 7-1, in the other contest.

West Chester (3-3) also split its pair of games on Saturday and is 2-2 on its spring trip to the Sunshine State.

Jillian Murray was a combined 4-for-7 in the two games with a pair of runs scored in the opener. Jessica Norris went 2-for-4 against Dominican as well. Megan Kelly scored two runs and stole a base while Nicole Cruts was 2-for-4 with a RBI. Kelly Anderson also doubled and later scored.

Kim Murl (1-2) finally picked up her first college win with a solid effort inside the circle. The freshman hurler had been somewhat of a hard-luck loser in her first two decisions. She continues to impress the coaching staff as she gains more experience and confidence with every outing.

Junior Abby Block doubled, and pinch-runner Molly Hepner scored the only Golden Rams run of the game in the loss to Alderson-Broaddus.

West Chester will have another shot at Alderson-Broaddus on Monday in the second of two games. The Rams are scheduled to play St. Joseph’s (Ind.) tomorrow morning.
