CLERMONT, Fla. – West Chester dropped a pair of games on Wednesday at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. The Golden Rams fell to both Assumption and West Virginia Wesleyan by identical scores of 6-1.
West Chester (4-6) has dropped four of its last five on its southern trip. The Golden Rams are hoping to get back on track Thursday with games against Post University and Belmont-Abbey. The forecast is calling for rain up and down most of the East Coast, however.
In the opening loss to Assumption, West Chester managed just five hits. Kelly Anderson hit a RBI double in the seventh inning, chasing home Kate Kmiecinski. However, that was the only run of the ballgame for the Golden Rams.
Brianna Rowlands hit a RBI single in the fifth inning of the nightcap that plated Kim Begley, who came on to run for Jillian Murray after she doubled.
