West Chester Women Split Pair In Tri-Meet

WEST CHESTER, Pa. –
West Chester University’s women’s swimming & diving team split a pair of decisions, beating The College of New Jersey, but fallint to Johns Hopkins University in a tri-meet inside Graham Natatorium Saturday morning.
 
West Chester bettered TCNJ, 239-131 while Hopkins topped the Golden Rams, 215-149.
 
Kacie McNichol picked up her second win of the two-day meet, capturing the 1650-yard freestyle in 17 minutes, 40.58 seconds. Leah Varvaro also won the 200 butterfly in 2:10.07. Teammate Amelia Buckley was right behind her in 2:12.29. Buckley also won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:28.74.
 
On the diving boards, Michelle Murphy as runner-up in the 1-meter springboard competition with a score of 249 while Kelsey Tennett was third with 247.58. Tennett was third on the 3m board (266.48) while Michelle Heinemann was fourth (260.03).
