WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University’s women’s soccer team rolled to 3-0 win over visiting Bloomsburg on Senior Day at South Campus Field Saturday. The seniors shined in the win.
The sixth-ranked Golden Rams (12-2-1, 9-2-1 PSAC East) put an end to their two-game losing streak in convincing fashion. WCU was led by seniors Melissa McKeary, Jen Hutchinson and Diana Rowan, who all scored in the game.
Rowan opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a goal brought on by her pressure on the Huskies’ goalkeeper. Bloomsburg hung close until midway through the second half when Hutchinson scored her fifth goal and 10th point of the season on a penalty kick. Melissa McKeary’s relentless pressure on Bloomsburg culminated in a late goal, her team-leading eighth of the season, to ice the win for the Golden Rams.
The Golden Rams are now in a tie with Kutztown atop the PSAC standings with the win and with two games left in the regular season.
The Golden Rams play Clarion this Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the South Campus Soccer Field, before traveling to Millersville next Saturday.
