MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - West Chester University's nationally ranked women's soccer squad dropped its regular-season finale at Millersville, 1-0, Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (13-3-1, 10-3-1 PSAC) finishes the regular season in second place and will be the second seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament this week. Millersville finishes the year at 5-8-5 overall and 2-8-4 in the conference.
West Chester will play the seven seed, Slippery Rock, in the PSAC Quarterfinals. The game and time was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30. However, the impending Hurricane Sandy may postpone that playoff game.
The Golden Rams' loss to Millersville was the first to the Marauders since 2004 and ruined West Chester's hopes of winning the regular-season championship and hosting the conference semifinals and finals. Marauders goalkeeper Olivia Webber made 11 saves in the shutout win.
