West Chester Exacts Revenge On ESU, 74-58

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Both Allison Hostetter and Alexandra Lennon registered double-doubles as host West Chester University downed visiting East Stroudsburg, 74-58, in the annual Play4Kay game inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon.
 
West Chester (18-6, 14-6 PSAC) kept pace in the Eastern Division and remains one game behind Bloomsburg for the division lead. East Stroudsburg (7-13, 10-14) was eliminated from the postseason with the loss, coupled with a Shippensburg win. The Raiders clinched the final playoff spot in the East with its win at Cheyney.
 
Allison Hostetter had 13 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, and Alex Lennon had 11 points, 14 rebounds and three blocked shots to lead West Chester. Carly Strickland scored nine points off the bench and three other players had eight points for the Golden Rams – Ambreelinne Ortman, Shamyra Hammond and Kendall Benovy.

ESU led 13-12 early in the game after Borst hit back-to-back three-pointers, but West Chester responded with a 13-0 run in less than two minutes to take a double-figure lead. In all, the Golden Rams compiled a 34-8 run in a 12-minute stretch and led 48-26 at halftime. West Chester held its largest lead of the game, 68-35, with 10:29 remaining.
