WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Saturday is "Strikeout Cancer Day" at West Chester University. WCU, together with Gannon University and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) will team up to STRIKE OUT CANCER by raising money for teh American Cancer Society.
Since starting the Strikeout Cancer initiative over 10 years ago, the NFCA has raised thousands of dollars to support the fight against cancer. These vital resources allow the American Cancer Society to continue its lifesaving efforts to prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish suffering from the disease through research, education, advocacy and service.
Between games of this afternoon’s doubleheader, members of the WCU softball team will be collecting donations and we ask that you please give generously, as we work to STRIKE OUT CANCER. Together, we ARE making a difference.
The American Cancer Society estimates over 1.5 million new cancer cases were diagnosed and 500,000 cancer deaths occurred in the United States during 2011. This deadly disease touches everyone. But together we can make a difference.
