WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Senior midfielder Michele Schrift registered a hat trick as second-ranked West Chester University shut out visiting seventh-ranked Millersville, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
With the win, the Golden Rams (6-1, 3-0 PSAC East) remain undefeated in the PSAC Eastern Division. Millersville drops to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Schrift tipped a shot by Kelsi Lykens into the goal on a penalty corner opportunity to put West Chester on top early. Sixteen minutes
later, Schrift found the back of the net with her team-leading sixth goal of the year with a beautiful drive. The third goal came from Gluchowski midway into the second half off a spinning drive past the Millersville goalkeeper. Four minutes later, Lauren Schott notched an assist on Schrift’s third goal, which sealed the deal for the day.
The Golden Rams dominated on defense allowing just three shots with only one shot finding its way to goalkeeper, Kristin Arnold. The Golden rams maintained offensive possession for the majority of the game.
Next up, the Golden Rams travel to East Stroudsburg for a 4pm start this Tuesday. West Chester looks to remain undefeated in PSAC play and compete for a seventh win overall.
