Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Millersville put an end to the West Chester seven game winning streak with a 1-0 PSAC victory Saturday afternoon at Biemsderfer Stadium.
West Chester (8-4, 7-4 PSAC) was held scoreless for the second time this year, and the second year in a row against Millersville. The Marauders (6-5-1, 5-4-1 PSAC) stopped their five game losing streak .
Millersville scored in the 58
th minute when
Elizabeth Waite fired a one-time shot into the lower left corner past
Alex Srolis in goal for the Golden Rams.
The goal ended the West Chester and the Srolis shutout streak after five consecutive clean sheets.
West Chester outshot Millersville 6-2 and had a 9-1 edge in corner kicks, but was unable to capitalize on its opportunities.
Melissa Rowan had a shot cleared off the line by a defender in the 76
th minute, and a
Marie D'Angelo header hit the crossbar with just under two minutes to play.
Alex Srolis made one save in goal for the Golden Rams.
Olivia Weber controlled the area in front of her goal, corralling many corners and crosses, and making five saves in shutting out West Chester for the second consecutive season.
The Golden Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to new PSAC opponent University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
