No. 3 Field Hockey tops No. 6 ESU 4-2

Box Score EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Four unanswered goals erased a 1-0 deficit, as third-ranked West Chester University defeated No. 6 East Stroudsburg, 4-2, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Saturday in East Stroudsburg.

The Golden Rams (7-2, 3-0 PSAC) tied the game in the 31st minute when Nancy Stehman scored unassisted. The Warriors (5-5, 2-1 PSAC) had scored midway through the first half to open the scoring.

West Chester took the lead just 40 seconds into the second half, on a Meg Callanan goal from Kelsey Cheek.

Kelsi Lykens scored on a penalty stroke less than five minutes later, and Marnie Kusakavitch put the game away in the 67th minute from Lykens.

Audree Bonavita made four saves in net for the Golden Rams, Alexis stopped nine shots in the ESU goal.

West Chester returns home Wednesday for a 4 p.m. contest with top ranked and undefeated PSAC rival Shippensburg. The Golden Rams lost a non-conference game 4-2 at the Raiders in the opening week of the season.
