CHEYNEY, Pa. - Alexandra Lennon scored a career-high 29 points and posted her 18th career double-double, adding 10 rebounds, as West Chester ended its regular season with an 88-62 victory over host Cheyney in a PSAC women's basketball contest inside Cope Hall Wednesday evening.
West Chester (15-11, 12-10 PSAC) finishes the regular season in fifth place in the PSAC East standings and will travel to fourth-seeded Kutztown Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. tipoff with the Golden Bears in the first round of the PSAC Tournament. Cheyney finishes its season 1-25 overall and 1-21 in conference play.
The Golden Rams will be making their seventh straight appearance in the PSAC Tournament and it marks 17 of the last 18 years that WCU has reached the conference tournament at the end of the year.
Lennon’s 29 points are the most a West Chester player has scored in a game since Kiesha Mack netted 33 against Bloomsburg in 2004. She also moved into 10th place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,132 points in her career. The senior also became the 20th female in NCAA history to register 300 career blocked shots.
