Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Third-ranked Millersville scored a pair of goals in the second half en route to a 3-1 non-league field hockey victory over host West Chester Wednesday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.

West Chester (3-2) has dropped two of its last three while Millersville (4-0) remains unbeaten on the year.

The Marauders controlled the pace of the game throughout the second half, scoring twice off of penalty corners to break a 1-1 tie at halftime. Millersville originally had fallen behind, but scored three unanswered goals to come away with the win on the road.

Conversely, West Chester could not capitalize on countless corners in the first half, opening the door for the visitors. The Golden Rams were awarded 15 corners, nine in the first half, but still managed just 10 shots in the contest. Millersville took 10 shots on the day as well. However, they had just five corners.

Megan Callanan opened the scoring in the 17th minute when she tapped in a cross from Lauren McGinley for her fifth goal of the season.

Millersville's Rachel Dickinson slapped a hard shot from the top of the circle off a penalty corner with four minutes left in the first half to tie things up. Sarah Bomberger picked up the assist.

Three minutes into the second half, that duo teamed up once again on a penalty corner to put Millersville in front, 2-1. Alicia Youtz snuck a shot inside the far post off an assist from Hannah Whitman in the 55th minute to close out the scoring.

West Chester goalkeeper Audree Bonavita (0-1) made three saves in her first college start. Millersville's Lauren Sotzin (4-0) made seven saves for the Marauders.
