Women's Swimming & Diving Hang on for the Tri-meet Sweep

New Haven, Pa. -  The West Chester Women's swimming team dominated the Southern Connecticut State Owls 237-95, while hanging on to defeat the Shippensburg Red Raiders by 10 (171-161) to complete the Tri-meet sweep Saturday afternoon.

Tess Hayward (Elizabethtown, Pa. / Elizabethtown) led the team with two first place finishes in the 50 Free and 200 free, along with a second place finish with teammates Morgan Haney (Lititz, Pa / Warwick)  ,Emily Stang (Allentown, Pa. / Parkland), and Kiana Campbell (Manalapan, N.J. / Manalapan) in the 400 Free Relay.  

Kendall Somer (West Chester, Pa. / Unionville) captured first place in the 200 breast as well as second place finishes in the 1650 Free and 200 IM. Dani Barron (Perkasie, Pa. / Pennridge) took first place in the 1650 Free.

Stang and Alexis Walley (Allentown, Pa. / Parkland) each contributed with one second place and one third place finish in individual competition to add to the lead. In addition, Haney placed third in the 50 Free.

The Golden Rams finished day one with six first place finishes and added four more to conclude the weekend with ten overall.
 
Women's Swimming will take two weeks to prepare and rest up for an October 24th meeting with Lehigh at 5 p.m.
