CLERMONT, Fla. – West Chester University's softball squad fell to both Saint Leo and Minnesota-Moorhead in a split doubleheader action Tuesday afternoon at the National Training Center.

West Chester (10-7) fell to Saint Leo, 7-0, before dropping a heartbreaking 2-1 verdict to Minnesota-Moorhead right after the Saint Leo game.

The Golden Rams mustered just one hit against Saint Leo in the opener. Saint Leo scored one in the second, four in the fourth, one more in the fifth and another in the seventh.

Katie Erb (2-2) suffered the loss. She started and lasted 3.1 innings, yielding four earned runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out twice. Micaela McSpadden finished up, surrendering two runs on six hits and striking out one.

Megan Kelly registered the only hit of the game in the first inning.

In the nightcap, Minnesota-Moorhead hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning for a dramatic 2-1 victory.

Erb (2-3) thew a complete-game. She was the hard-luck loser in the second game.
