Softball Suffers Sweep At Hands Of Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Millersville's Brianna Andraos tossed a one-hit shutout in game one, and Amanda Wink threw a five-hit shutout in the nightcap as host Millersville swept a PSAC East softball doubleheader from West Chester Friday.
 
West Chester (28-15, 15-7 PSAC East) remains in first place in the Eastern Conference standings, despite a pair of losses at the hands of Millersville (22-20, 10-12).
 
The Golden Rams did not bring their bats Friday, and Andraos and Wink shut down the offense.
 
Kim Murl went 2-for-3 in the second game while Laura Altenburger picked up the lone hit in game one. Murl (10-5) suffered the loss in the opener, throwing a complete game and allowing just one run on six hits.
 
Katie Erb (7-7) surrendered four runs on seven hits while striking out two in five innings of work. Murl threw the sixth in game two. She struck out one.
 
West Chester continues its road trip Saturday with another Eastern Division doubleheader at Shippensburg.
