Box Score 2 EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa.- Kim Murl knocked in five runs and picked up the win in the opener to lead to lead West Chester University to a doubleheader road sweep Sunday afternoon against PSAC East rival East Stroudsburg University at Zimbar Field.
West Chester (22-11, 11-3 PSAC East) captured the opening game 10-3 with a 16 hit attack led
Jess Schuck, who hit a home run and drove in three runs
, East Stroudsburg (9-16, 4-6 PSAC East) opened the scoring in the first game with a run in the bottom of the second.
The Golden Rams trailed 1-0 with two outs in the third when Schuck got the offense started by driving home
J.P. Norris to tie the game. Murl brought in Schuck to give West Chester a lead they would not relinquish. The Golden Rams broke the game open with a five run fifth highlighted by a
Kelly Anderson two run double, and tacked on three more in the sixth highlighted by Schuck's fourth long ball of the season.
Murl picked up the victory with a complete game to improve to 6-3.
Schuck got the Golden Rams started in the nightcap with a one out double to bring home
Megan Kelly, who had doubled. Murl followed with her second home run of the year to make a 3-0 advantage in the first.
Kelly, who scored five times in the doubleheader, put the game out of reach with a Grand Slam in the top of the fourth to make it 8-1.
Micaela McSpadden, who won for the eighth time without a loss gave up only one hit in the victory.
West Chester hosts Bowie State on Wednesday for a nonleague doubleheader starting at 2:30 p.m. at South Campus Field
