Carly Yost (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) scored a goal and assisted on the other to lead ninth-ranked West Chester University to a 2-1 victory over host Mercyhurst in a PSAC women's soccer match Friday afternoon.

West Chester (5-0, 4-0 PSAC) remains unbeaten on the year, after handing Mercyhurst (2-1-1, 2-1-1) its first defeat of the season.

Yost headed a corner kick from
Lexi Lentz (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) into the upper right hand corner of the goal 11 minutes into the contest to put the Golden Rams on top.
Kara Parvel (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) then one-timed a pass from Yost into the back of the net in the 28th minute to give West Chester a 2-0 lead by halftime.

Mercyhurst cut the deficit in half in the 55th minute. However, the Golden Rams' defense stood tall the rest of the way. Sophomore goalkeeper
Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) (4-0) made three saves in the win. Her counterpart, Kriten Koch, made seven stops.
