West Chester Women Fall to Kutztown; Sicinski Reaches 1,000 Points

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Jr., G Jasmen Clark (Temple,Pa/Oley Valley) scored a team-high 17 points, but it was not enough as the Golden Rams fell to  the Kutztown Bears by a score of 78-69 inside Keystone Arena on Saturday afternoon.
 
Kutztown (8-12, 7-9 PSAC) took an early lead in the first half that placed the Golden Bears ahead of West Chester by 10 points. The Golden Rams (16-4, 12-4) quickly gained some momentum, sparked by a 10-0 run to put them within two points. However, the Bears gained control with an eight-point lead by the end of the first half.
 
Kutztown led, 38-30, at the half, scoring 13 points off turnovers, which gave the hosts a comfortable lead that allowed them to come out on top.
 
Dallas Ely (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) contributed 13 points, two assists and four rebounds, while Brittany Sicinski (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) scored six points, including her 1,000th career point. She is the 19th player in the school's history to reach this achievement. Sicinski also grabbed five boards, and dished six assists in her monumental game.
 
Chikisha Steele-Hook (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Twp.) and Anna Kuntz (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) both posted eight points and a combined total of 12 boards in the loss.
 
The Bears' Adiva Campbell led the team with 18 points and six rebounds. Brianna Morales added 16 points, which included four 3-pointers. Kutztown ended up scoring 22 of its 78 points off turnovers while the Rams only recorded 12.
 
West Chester hopes to bounce back on its home court on Wednesday, Feb. 4, as the Golden Rams face off against Lock Haven University at 5:30 p.m.
